Unique for a city hotel Rachamankha is renowned for its peaceful and very private atmosphere, and its incredible architecture. The hotel, just 22 rooms and 2 suites, is set in 2 acres of manicured grounds and the architecture pays homage to Chiang Mai's golden age, the Lanna period, offering guests a unique stay in a unique property with a true sense of place.
Rachamankha has 25 rooms, from 1 to 26: in keeping with tradition there is no room number 13. There are 3 types of room 18 superior rooms, 4 deluxe rooms and 2 suites. No, there's no mistake, we do have 25 rooms - suite 24 can be converted into 2 rooms, a deluxe room and a superior room if required.
Our Superior rooms are located around the 2 guest area courtyards. Each room is 32sqm fitted with either a king size bed or twin single beds, 19th century Chinese furniture and decorated with Asian art.
The Deluxe are our most popular rooms. Located in the 2 storey building at the pool end of the hotel all rooms are 40sqm with en-suite half bathrooms. They are fitted with a silk draped canopy king size bed, 19th century Chinese furniture and decorated with Asian art.
Both Suites are 100sqm with 2 double en-suite bedrooms, a large lounge room, and kitchenette. Suite 26, which is situated above the Library, has a large private balcony and Suite 24, which occupies a ground floor corner position near the reception, is tucked away within a secret walled courtyard garden with private access to the hotel pool.
Facilities within Rachamankha's grounds include 2 bars, a Gallery displaying regional art and antiques, a Boutique featuring works by local designers, a beautiful and very private 20 metre swimming pool for guests' exclusive use, a Pool Spa offering a full range of massage services and a Library with internet ready computers, books, daily papers and periodicals.
On the second floor above the restaurant, the gallery is a showcase of Chiang Mai's culture and history a permanent but ever changing display of antiques and objects that reflect Chiang Mai's rich artistic and cultural heritage. Open to all from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Exclusively for Rachamankha's guests: hardwood bookcases line every wall, a display of fresh orchids, crystal decanters of brandy and decorated with antique Chinese porcelain. Wi-Fi connection and 2 internet ready computers with a printer for free use by Rachamankha's guests.
Private, peaceful with garden views Rachamankha's 20m teal-tiled pool is serviced by the two-storey pool pavilion which houses both the pool bar, and on the second floor, the massage spa. Awarded one of S.E. Asia's top ten cleanest pools in 2009 by Dr. Josef Konrad of Asia Pool and Spa magazine.
The Boutique is located on the second floor of the restaurant building. Unique pieces from local designers and artisans are available along with antiques and a range of books about the regions peoples, culture and histories. Open every day from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
